I follow a
discussion that plays a documentary film about student at elementary school named Abrary. At
that moment Abrary who was sitting in
class 6 will face the national exam. But national exam not only to exam for students, but especially for teachers
and school element to not provide a cheat sheet for the students. Regardless of
government policies that impose NATIONAL EXAM as graduation standard, where
these policies, which inhibits the growth of a healthy character, ability
injustice among the students in the various islands are influenced by the
facilities and infrastructure available. Apart from the national exam that be a
scary ghost for students, school as a most responsible environment for the education of students while
upholding the virtues that should be owned by students. One of the characters
that must be grow up is honest, but the schools were giving the answers on
students. Indirectly they have done mass lies. Give the answer key is not
enough, they even make an agreement
signed by each student which contains that they will not leak dishonest
activities to anyone, even to their parents. In short, Abrar who feel uncomfortable
with this secret finally tell this problem to his mother. Abrar parents confirm
to the school and other parents about this.
Unfortunately, Abrar and his mother
are demands the honesty don’t get support but get a mock and isolated from the
environment. Up to 3 years later name "Abrary" noted at the school
and the environment as a "not solid" student, exactly not solid in
disobedience. Though, what is Abrar’s reason why he refuse dishonest activity is simple:
"If a lazy student get good
grades, how will be Indonesia?"
Yes, if people who try and do not
try get the same appreciation, then what's
the point of working hard?
Moreover when
we give a cheat sheet indirectly we print the corruptor that justifies any manner
to get what he wants. Therefore, we need to be very careful in educating
children. Advising to do honesty but do not practice the honesty in life it’s mean we are an exampling
of dishonesty. Perhaps the reason to give a cheat sheet is worry or pity, but like Mr.
Anis Baswedan said: “If love wants make each other happy, save a children
instantly mean drop them in the future”.
At the last,
Prof. Arif Rachman often said, "Teachers are the last bastion in
education". In my opinion, the teachers here are not only teachers in the
school, but also parents play a role as a teacher. Parents are the most
important teacher that not be prepared. So let's supply ourselves with noble
moralities, including the nature of honesty. So that we are ready to be a role
model for future generations for honest Indonesia and great Indonesia.
